    box

    Wonderful thing a New Year.
It is the perfect time to thank God for all the highs and the lows,
the bumps and the bruises, the smiles and the giggles of 2015.
It is the best time to look back with reflection and introspection at
what was…what is…and what never came to be.
And it is the proper time to take the large box of the past year, now filled with all it’s happenings and loaded with daily living 2015 stuff…
wrap it up in bright colored paper, seal it with a bow
and place it gently behind us.

    Wonderful thing a New Year.
It is the perfect time to thank God for everything that lies ahead. Imagining all the mystery and excitement of our day to day living in 2016.
It is the best time to look forward with anticipation and wonder at what the Lord has planned for us, contemplating what He may allow.
And it is the proper time to take a large empty box for this coming year,  filled with nothing but total surrender and holding it out in front of us, lifting it gently before the Lord. Waiting for Him to fill it day by day.
Allowing Him to place in this bare box His perfect will.
Knowing full well He will hand His will to us
    moment by moment
with grace sufficient for the cause.

As we surrender to God’s will each day this year, desiring nothing in our boxes that He has not placed there Himself, we will often be found softly singing…

    “Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into Your hands
For it’s only in Your will that I am free
    Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be”

    Happy 2016 friend.

  • This is a word I needed to hear. My husband passed away 6 months ago after a 6 year battle with cancer. I’ve been having a difficult time of it emotionally and your post helped point me to a future and purpose I haven’t been able to see.
